What
is TSI? TSI
is a place where ideas are turned into growing, profitable new ventures.
It's a place where ideas with promise are nurtured until they can
survive and prosper on their own. It's a place where the dream of a new
venture can become a lifetime adventure. What
Does TSI Offer? TSI
offers support to the budding entrepreneur in two ways. 2. Guidance and oversight—we have faculty and Advisory Board members who are successful entrepreneurs and provide assistance in:
What
Is CEO? CEO
is a program of carefully orchestrated oversight of new and existing
small ventures by our experienced faculty and Advisory Board. The new
venture is helped through the earliest stages of concept and plan
development while existing businesses get assistance as they seek to
take the next step in growth. Why
Do We Do It? When
you graduate your alma mater's interest in your career usually ends.
They never see you again, and you sink or swim on your own. Success is
your responsibility. However
in TSI or the CEO Program you'll have extremely qualified help and
guidance. You do not sink or swim on your own we take a great deal of
interest for your success. This means you're less likely to sink because
of inexperience, although you may fail for other reasons. Therefore we
do it because it increases your chances of becoming successful. that is
our primary goal and has been the goal of Suffolk University since its
founding by Gleason Archer in 1906. Who
Is It For? Any
Suffolk University student or alumnus is eligible for this program.
TSI's objective is to help you become successful. Suffolk students and
alumni with well-thought-out ideas need several things: seed capital,
strategic planning assistance, direction from experienced entrepreneurs,
introductions to contacts in a number of functional areas and a place to
successfully grow the business. Within TSI clients are able to take
advantage of seed capital availability as well as gain access to the
other things they need including direction from successful
entrepreneurs. Does
It Work? In
a 1995 study for the National Business Incubator Association, Coopers
& Lybrand found that, "Fast growth companies that utilize
university resources boast productivity rates 59% higher than peers
without a university relationship, as well as 21% higher annual revenues
and 23% more capital investments." There
are no secrets to creating a successful startup. The rules are
well-known and a wealth of information is available. It takes knowledge,
energy and resources. Knowledge is readily available, we have people
investing the time and energy to get the Sawyer School started in the
right direction. How
